Oι KULTUR SHOCK ξαναερχονται στο 8ball

Kultur Shock’s style is impossible to define – critics and audiences alike throw SOAD,Gogol Bordello, Manu Chao, Gang of Four, The Pogues, Balkan folk music examples, punkrock and heavy metal as references to it. That being said, nothing can prepare the
unsuspecting listener to what is going to come out of their home stereo speakers or what’s going to happen to them during the live shows that the band is best known for.
Based in Seattle-USA and partly comprised of immigrants who bring in heavy influences from their own cultures and background, over the years the band has developed a whole new genre with an unmistakable tone and attitude.
The band has succeeded to achieve their own blend and tone, which is unique and unmistakable. Their uncompromising artistry has gained them the support of Serj Tankian, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic (whoplayed accordion on their last studio album), FNM’s Bill Gould (who released their first 4 albums on KoolArrow Records), and Jello Biafra (who described them as “this is what
punk rock should sound like”).
Formed in Seattle in 1996, the band has 3 live, 8 studio albums and over 1000 European and American shows under its belt and has celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2016.
Almost all of its club dates are headlining (they are joking that they make a really lousy opener – “Go fuckin’ play after us….”), has headlined many festival stages and supported artist like Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Manu Chao, The Whalers, Gogol Bordello (quite a
few times), Burning Spear and Sepultura – to name a few, and has given the chance to many young and aspiring artists to share a stage with them.
Kultur Shock performs in Europe – from UK to Turkey and from Scandinavia to North Africa, the American Northwest, Northeast and upper Midwest, Russia – European and Asian, and has plans to tour Japan, Oceania and South America.
Major Festival appearances include – Bumbershoot (Seattle WA), Victoria Folk (Canada),Sziget (Hungary), Exit and Ritam Evrope (Serbia), Sayanskoe Kolco (Siberia, Russia),Festival of Peace (Kazan, Russia), Esperanza (Belgium), Fest am Berg, Wilwarin and
Folk’n’Fusion (Germany), Senglar Rock, Castellbisbal, Iboga, Capdepera and Pireneus Sur (Spain), Fete de la Musique, Festival de la Boheme and Les Musicaves (France), Ariano Irpino, Arezzo Wave and Summer Lab (Italy), Lent, Rock Otocec and Schengenfest (Slovenia), INmusic and Spancirfest (Croatia), Beerfest and Sarajevo Film Fest (Bosnia),LakeFest (Monte Negro), Stufstock and IRAF (Romania), Spirit of Burgas (Bulgaria), Nilufer Music (Turkey), Kavala festival (Greece), Taksirat (Macedonia) and many more national, regional and city fests across Europe and the US.
